The Crystal Coast of North Carolina has many festivals and family friendly events during the late summer months into early winter. Here you can keep up to date with local activities, events and socials for one and all from Swansboro to Beaufort and beyond.
International Film Series

Escoffier Chef Dinner Series

The popular dinner series is back! Enjoy a four-course meal prepared by Culinary Students and top local chefs. Get a ticket for an individual dinner, or the whole series but act fast because they always sell out!
This is an annual event that occurs once a month during January, February, March and April. This year we are offering four dinners (no luncheon) in the series. All four dinners will feature the best French Cuisine (four course-meal). This event sells out every year!
This amazingly unique event supports the CCC Culinary Program. The Culinary Program is vibrantly training tomorrow’s chefs. Carteret Community College is very proud that we send 3-4 students annually to France for a month internship. During this month-long trip the students train under the best French Escoffier Chefs in the world!

Middle Lane is home to Beaufort’s annual Mardi Gras celebration, the highlight of which is arguably the shortest parade in North Carolina. It’s a true display of Beaufort’s quirkiness. The parade of “krewes” in costume tossing jewelry and charms is not to be missed.

The Crystal Coast is the perfect spot for your next race or adventure. The event starts and ends in Morehead City, the largest town in Carteret County, on the coast of North Carolina. The climate in March is perfect running weather, with an average high temperature of 64 and low of 44. The course is picturesque running from Morehead city, over one of the state’s most iconic bridges, into Atlantic Beach and back. After the race enjoy a true celebration of all the finishers, friends, family and community. This event is family friendly and a must do for all. With more than 85 miles of enticing coastline, nine distinct regions and hundreds of events and activities, you’re sure to find something for everyone.
Art Unveiling & Wind Competition

Join Beaufort Wine and Food as it unveils the signature 2017 painting during an evening celebrating the organization’s upcoming 13th annual festival. In conjunction with the unveiling of the signature artwork, BWF will also be holding the FINAL ROUND of judging for its wine competition. Guests have the opportunity to sample and judge close to 40 selections, which have been narrowed down from over 200 selections. The wines will be covered to keep judging bling and the winning selections will be announced and medaled at the event.
Boat Building Past and Present

his program covers wooden boat building of the past and modern construction methods of today. Participants visit the Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center where wooden boats are restored and the art of building them is taught. Transportation is then provided to a local boat manufacturer where modern methods of boat construction will be observed. Not suitable for children under 12. 26th Annual Emerald Isle St. Patrick’s Festival

26th Annual Emerald Isle St. Patrick’s Festival sponsored by Transportation Impact takes place on Saturday, March 11th from 9am-6pm at the Emerald Plantation shopping center. Admission and parking are free for the festival. This year’s festival will feature over 75 arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, clowns and static displays along with amusement rides, a climbing wall, face painters, and many other fun, family-oriented activities. As always, the festival will feature delicious foods such as corned beef and cabbage, shrimp burgers, hamburgers and hot dogs, Mediterranean cuisine, BBQ, funnel cakes, fried peanuts, cotton candy and much, much more. Festival goers can also enjoy a beer garden.
Fairy Day at the Aquarium

Put on some wings, a dash of glitter and let your imagination fly during the Aquarium’s annual Fairy Day. Build fairy and gnome houses on the nature trail, search for mermaid and fairy doors around the Aquarium and make your own magic wand. 5th Annual Bites & Blues

Buy your tickets early for this annual sell-out event put on by the North Carolina Seafood Festival. Purchase a $40 ticket and take a stroll along the Morehead City Waterfront stopping at restaurants and host businesses to taste a “bite” from numerous participating restaurants while listening to various soloists and bands perform as you enjoy your progressive dinner. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Carteret Community College Culinary Arts Program. Tickets will be available for purchase at the beginning of March. Beaufort Historic Associations Annual Easter Egg Hunt
